S100s and HMGB1 Crosstalk in Pancreatic Cancer Tumors

چکیده

Pancreatic cancer remains a disease that is very difficult to treat. S100 proteins are small calcium binding with diverse intra- and extracellular functions modulate different aspects of tumorigenesis, including tumor growth metastasis. High mobility group box 1 (HMGB1) protein multifaceted also actively influences the development progression tumors. In this study, we investigate possible correlations, at transcript level, between S100s HMGB1 in pancreatic cancer. For purpose, calculated Pearson’s correlations levels 13 cancer-related genes cDNA array containing 19 samples, 8 human cell lines. Statistically significant positive were found 5.5% (5 out 91) 37.4% (34 S100/S100 or S100/HMGB1 pairs cells tumors, respectively. Our data suggest many crosstalk tumors either other members family, HMGB1. These newly observed interdependencies may be used further characterization based on transcription profiles.

Histone deacetylases, microRNA and leptin crosstalk in pancreatic cancer

Because pancreatic cancer (PC) historically has had poor prognosis and five year survival rates, it has been intensely investigated. Analysis of PC incidence and biology has shown a link between different risk factors such as smoking, alcoholism, and obesity and disease progression. Important factors affecting PC include the epigenomic changes driven by DNA methylation and histone acetylation, ...

Crosstalk between mast cells and pancreatic cancer cells contributes to pancreatic tumor progression.

PURPOSE To assess the clinical and pathologic significance of mast cell infiltration in human pancreatic cancer and evaluate crosstalk between mast cells and cancer cells in vitro. EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN Immunohistochemistry for tryptase was done on 53 pancreatic cancer specimens. Mast cell counts were correlated with clinical variables and survival. Serum tryptase activity from patients with ca...

Desmoplasia in Primary Tumors and Metastatic Lesions of Pancreatic Cancer.

PURPOSE Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is characterized by high levels of fibrosis, termed desmoplasia, which is thought to hamper the efficacy of therapeutics treating PDAC. Our primary focus was to evaluate differences in the extent of desmoplasia in primary tumors and metastatic lesions. As metastatic burden is a primary cause for mortality in PDAC, the extent of desmoplasia in meta...

Laparoscopy in pancreatic tumors

Recently, increasing number of manuscripts - original articles and case reports have attempted to provide evidence of the forays of minimal access surgery into pancreatic diseases. Many, based on the lack of Level I evidence, still believe that laparoscopy in pancreatic surgery is experimental. This article attempts to look into data exploring the existing use of minimally invasive surgery in p...

Thoracoscopic Splanchnicectomy for Pain Control in Irresectable Pancreatic Cancer

Introduction : Severepain is a major problem in patients with unresectable pancreatic cancer. The goal of this study is to evaluate the effects of Thoracoscopic Splanchnicectomy (TS) on pain control in these patients suffering from unresectable pancreatic cancer. Methods:Between years 2000 to 2011, 20 patients suffering from unresectable pancreatic cancer underwent TS due to severe pain. They w...
